Miami Beach opens its 2026–27 Culture Crawl season on Thursday, Oct. 15. On that night, the two public stages in North Beach are scheduled one after the other. "Strings and Sunset" at Normandy Fountain starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 7:30. The Miami Beach Bandshell starts its show at 7:30.
Nine days later the same pairing returns on a Saturday. Together the two nights show something about North Beach this fall. Its cultural calendar is starting to run as one evening in two parts, with the Fountain at dusk and the Bandshell after dark.
The City Put the Two Stages in Order
The City of Miami Beach's season announcement, dated Oct. 12, 2026, goes through the opening night district by district. South Beach comes first: The Wolfsonian–FIU, the Art Deco Museum, the Holocaust Memorial, the Lincoln Road Art Walk, Moonlighter FabLab, the Bass and the New World Symphony's WALLCAST in SoundScape Park. North Beach comes next, in two consecutive sentences:
In North Beach, check out "Strings and Sunset" at Normandy Fountain, 7802 Rue Vendome. The event will feature performances by Nina Marie and Sarah Bomber starting at 6 p.m. The evening concludes at 7:30 p.m. Don't miss the nearby Miami Beach Bandshell at 7275 Collins Ave. for a performance by Les Greene & The Swayzees.
The release calls the Bandshell "nearby," and the first show ends just as the second begins. Culture Crawl itself runs on a simple format. Every third Thursday from October through July, participating venues offer free admission to selected exhibits, screenings and performances from 6 to 9 p.m., and branded trolleys run free to and from those venues. According to the City's program page, you can start anywhere and move at your own pace, with the trolleys covering the longer trips between events. South Beach has many stops spread over many blocks. North Beach has two, and the times are set so you can go from one to the other.
Two Hosts, One Evening
The two stages are run by different groups, which is why the matched schedule is worth noting.
Normandy Fountain Plaza sits at 7802 Rue Vendome, and the Normandy Fountain Business Association programs it. October alone has four events there. A monthly weekend movie night with the Miami Film Festival opened the month on Oct. 4 with a "Minions & Monsters" theme. HIVE brought back its De La Fuente evenings of live music, food and art on Oct. 10. Then come the Culture Crawl strings set on Oct. 15 and the Day of the Dead party on Oct. 24. The association's description of the Oct. 15 set is plain: two singers, a guitar and a harp, performing "as the sun sets over North Beach."
The Bandshell, at 7275 Collins Avenue, is a City facility. The City gave its professional management contract to the Rhythm Foundation and renewed it in 2019. On the Bandshell's monthly calendar, the third-Thursday show is called North Beach Social. It is a free neighborhood music night that the Rhythm Foundation presents with the City, and it is part of Culture Crawl. October's North Beach Social has Les Greene & The Swayzees at 7:30 p.m., with free RSVP.
The City's description of the band shows the second half of the evening is louder than the first. It is a six-piece rock and soul group drawing on rock 'n' roll, R&B, Motown, doo-wop and soul. Les Greene won an Ameripolitan Award in 2024 and sang as Little Richard on the Grammy-nominated "Elvis" soundtrack, and the band was a Top 5 Finalist in the 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. The evening starts with a harp at sunset and ends with a six-piece band on the Collins Avenue stage.
October 24 Follows the Same Pattern
The second October pairing falls on a Saturday. It also confirms that the Thursday timing was more than a one-time Culture Crawl arrangement.
| Normandy Fountain, 7802 Rue Vendome | Miami Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave. | |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday, Oct. 15 | "Noche Sunset and Strings," Nina Marie and Sarah Bomber, 6 to 7:30 p.m. | North Beach Social: Les Greene & The Swayzees, 7:30 p.m., free RSVP |
| Saturday, Oct. 24 | 7th Annual Day of the Dead Salsa Party: trick-or-treating and prizes for kids 6 to 7 p.m., then Paula Zuleta and her band at 7 p.m. | John Scofield's "Electrospective," 8 p.m., ticketed |
On the 24th, the Fountain's evening has two parts. Children trick-or-treat for an hour, and the salsa set starts at seven. The association calls it the "Famous Fountain Fiesta." An hour later the Bandshell hosts John Scofield's "Electrospective." The guitarist revisits his funk-jazz fusion work with Oteil Burbridge, Larry Goldings and Adam Deitch. Unlike the free Thursday show, this one requires a ticket. The order is the same as on Thursday, though, with the family-friendly event at the plaza first and the headliner on Collins second.
Where Dinner Fits Between the Two
Neither paired night leaves much of a gap for dinner, so it usually comes before the Fountain set or after the Bandshell show. These are the North Beach options with confirmed addresses and hours.
Café Prima Pasta at 414 71st Street serves dinner every day, according to its own site, and its reservation calendar was taking October 2026 dates when we checked.
Ezio's at 580 72nd Street, which Miami New Times reported opened Dec. 19, 2025, lists dinner service Wednesday through Sunday on its own site. Both the Thursday and Saturday nights fall within that schedule.
Sunshine Coffee opened its North Beach flagship at 7351 Collins Avenue on June 4, 2026, Miami New Times reported. It is on the same stretch of Collins as the Bandshell. That report didn't list evening hours, so check before planning a show-night stop.
One more is on the way. Luca Trattoria has been announced for 933 Normandy Drive. As of Miami New Times' Sept. 28 report, it was "opening this fall," with no date given. If it opens during the Culture Crawl season, the Fountain side will have its own dinner option before the music.
The Bandshell's Fall Calendar Around These Two Nights
Beyond the two paired evenings, the Bandshell's October and November listings mix free RSVP nights and ticketed shows. That mix shapes how the neighborhood uses the venue.
- Sunday, Oct. 18, 2 p.m.: ZunZún Children's Fest 2026, "Love Is A Verb," with Tati Nuzi & Friends and Inez Barlatier, commissioned by the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Ticketed.
- Sunday, Oct. 25, 5 p.m.: the 3rd Festival de Bomba y Plena, with Puerto Rican bomba and plena, dance, artisans and food. Free RSVP.
- Sunday, Nov. 1, 7 p.m.: O Cinema's annual screening of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," this year paired with a DÃa de los Muertos celebration. Ticketed.
- Friday, Nov. 6, 8 p.m.: a homecoming show by Miami-raised rocker Ben Katzman with MOLD! and Homicide Jenny. Ticketed.
The Day of the Dead theme connects the Fountain's Oct. 24 party with the Bandshell's Nov. 1 screening. The two events are eight days apart and come from two different organizers, and both are about the same holiday.
The Collins Avenue end of the evening also has newer open space. In late 2025 the City marked the completion of the five-acre Ocean Terrace Park, between 73rd and 75th streets, with a public opening ceremony.
The 2026–27 Culture Crawl season runs through July 2027 on third Thursdays. After Oct. 15, the next date is Thursday, Nov. 19. The City's full schedule and trolley map are on its Culture Crawl events page.
At Carmenate / Duchon, we follow North Beach's weekly calendar as closely as its streets and shoreline. If you'd like to talk about where these Fountain and Bandshell evenings fit in North Beach life, book a private consultation.
